This tribute album was the brainchild of producer Geoff Heslop, with a
considerable input from Rod, which included the idea for the album title.
Rod played on 7 out of the 10 tracks from Woody Lives!, which is
available on CD Black Crow CROCD 217. His contribution was as follows:
Hard travellin' - guitar, bass, vocal
This land is your land - slide guitar
Deportees - guitar, mandolin, bass
Do re mi - guitar, bass
Pastures of plenty - fretless bass
Tom Joad - bass
Will you miss me - guitar, vocal
Hard travellin' and Will you miss me additionally featured the vocal
talents of one Ray Jackson. Also contributing to the album were Dick
Gaughan, Bert Jansch, Rory
McLeod, Rab Noakes and featuring
Pat Rafferty.
Woody Lives! represents something of a milestone in that it paved the
way for Leather Launderette, by introducing
Bert - via Rod - into the North East/Geoff Heslop/ Black Crow set-up.
