Mark Knopfler, more famous for his later work with Dire Straits, turned up at Rod's house in Finchley one time during the spring of 1974, and a homemade version of Mark's Newport Mount Rag, done on Rod's 'state-of-the art Pifco cassette recorder', was the result. The recording, together with further details in the sleeve notes, is available on BT3.
